About the Author

Cui Xiliang, professor of linguistics and applied linguistics, doctoral supervisor, president of Beijing Language and Culture University, executive director of the Chinese Linguistics Society, vice president of the World Chinese Language Teaching Society, and president of the Beijing Linguistic Society. He has published more than 40 papers on linguistics, including “Chinese Idioms and the World of Chinese Humanities”, “Language Understanding and Cognition”, “Introduction to Linguistics”, etc. He was awarded the title of outstanding young backbone teacher of Beijing colleges and universities, and was selected as a cross-century outstanding talent of the Ministry of Education.
