A Brief Introduction to the Nagananda International Institute of Buddhist Studies
The Nagananda International Institute of Buddhist Studies (NIIBS) is a degree-awarding institution recognized by the Government of Sri Lanka under the provisions of the Universities Act, No. 16 of 1978.
The NIIBS offers Bachelor of Arts, Master of Arts and Doctoral degrees and, in addition to teaching subjects related to Buddhist studies, the institute delivers language courses such as English and Chinese, as well as courses in Buddhism, Cultural Archeology, Media Studies and Information Technology. Currently, the institute consists of four faculties namely the Faculty of Graduate Studies, the Faculty of Buddhist Studies, the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences and the School of Communication Technology.
A brief introduction to this project
A major problem for teachers who teach Chinese and students who follow Chinese courses in Sri Lanka is a lack of places to buy Chinese language books.
